Stephen Welton became an Executive Advisor to CCMP in July 2011, continuing his long-standing involvement with CCMP. He is currently CEO of the Business Growth Fund (the “BGF”), a £2.5B fund underwritten by five of the U.K.’s largest financial institutions and formed with the support of the U.K. government to provide growth capital to Britain’s small and medium sized businesses. Prior to March 2011, Mr. Welton was a Senior Member of CCMP Capital Advisors (UK), LLP, CCMP’s London affiliate, and a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Welton focused on making investments in the industrial, leisure and consumer/retail sectors. Immediately prior to joining CCMP in 2002, he was Chairman and CEO of TV Travel Shop, the market leading television distribution business in the U.K. and Germany, which he built up before successfully selling it to USA Interactive Inc. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Welton was Managing Director U.K. of Barclays Private Equity. Prior to that, he co-founded Henderson Ventures. He started his career in the debt and mezzanine market with Security Pacific Eurofinance. Mr. Welton has a law degree from Durham University and is a qualified Barrister-at-Law.
